DirecTV Posts Revenue, Profit Gains For Q3 11/09/2009
EL SEGUNDO, CALIF.— DirecTV reported a double-digit gain in revenues and a net income gain for the third quarter. Revenues increased 10 percent to $5.47 billion, compared with the same time last year, while year-on-year net income attributable to the DirecTV group rose $3 million to $366 million.

Cobra Reports Q3 Loss, Lower Sales 11/09/2009
CHICAGO— Cobra Electronics reported a net loss of $509,000 and lower net sales for the third quarter, ended Sept. 30, but sees signs of a recovery. The net loss for the quarter compared with net income of $142,000 for the third quarter of last year. Net sales were $27.4 million for the quarter, down from the prior year’s $33.

RadioShack’s Q3 Sales, Net Slips By Alan Wolf - 11/09/2009
FORT WORTH, TEXAS— RadioShack said third-quarter profits fell 24 percent to $37.4 million and net sales slipped 3.1 percent to $990 million for the three months ending Sept. 30. Same-store sales at company-owned stores and kiosks decreased 2.9 percent due to slower sales of digital converter boxes, laptop computers, batteries, wireless accessories and GPS devices.

Espoo, Finland— Nokia is optimistic about mobile phones for the balance of the year, but reported a double-digit drop in net sales and loss in the third quarter compared with last year.
