second phone with Google’s Android OS. Details on the new Android phone are due next week.
The Dash 3G will be the carrier’s ninth 3G phone and its first 3G phone with Windows Mobile OS, and it will be available at T-Mobile retail stores, select authorized dealers, and online at http://www.T-Mobile.com at a price to be announced.
Dash 3G features Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard OS, QWERTY keyboard, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, GPS, and gloss-black finish with red accents. It features trackball and navigation buttons, replacing its predecessor’s five-way navigation button. Other feature include QVGA (320x240) resolution, Micorosft Exchange server support, microSDHC slot, and 2-megapixel camera.
T-Mobile is expanding its 1.7/2.1GHz 3G network to cover about 200 million people by the end of the year. At the end of 2008, 3G was available to more than 100 million people in more than 130 U.S. cities, the carrier said.
